Annabelle Lee (Lieving) Roush, 99, of Letart, West Virginia, departed this earth Saturday, August 20, 2022, at 10:52 P.M. in Holzer Meigs Emergency Department, Pomeroy, Ohio.

She was born on a snowy May 10, 1923, in a log cabin in the Old Jerk area of Letart, West Virginia, the eldest daughter of six of the late Oris F. Lieving and Mary Alice (Rickard) Lieving. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emory R. Roush; and three sisters, Mary Bumgarner, Hester Weaver and Betty Thompson.

Annabelle worked the family farm with her father and mother milking cows, tending livestock, and working harvest just trying to find their way through the depression. She went to school at Avalanche School House in the Vernon Community, and truly did walk up hill both ways.

Annabelle loved her flowers and working outside and made many birthday and wedding cakes for the community and afar. She was the director of Vacation Bible school for Vernon United Methodist Church for many years. She also enjoyed genealogy and crafting and sending home made Christmas cards from "Long Dale Press."

Annabelle married the late Emory R. Roush October 12, 1962. Together they ran West Creek Dairy and then farm until his death in 2009.

Survivors include her daughter, Roselyn L. Roush (Christopher "Wally" Ransom) of Letart, WV; two sisters, Ruth G. Roush of Letart, Braunda Ballou of Douglas Massachusetts. She is also survived by her loving caregivers, Rebecca and Ron Frechette of Syracuse, OH, Jackie and Rob Lawson of Racine, OH; many nieces, nephews, and their families.

Service will be 11 a.m., Thursday, August 25, 2022, at Foglesong-Casto Funeral Home, Mason, WV, with Pastor James Keesee officiating. Burial will follow in the Suncrest Cemetery, Point Pleasant, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

The family would like to thank all the caregivers over the years, especially Shana Johnson and Tasha Meek.
