Barbara Jean (Zirkle) Johnson, 84, of Mason, WV, passed away June 18, 2026, at her home following an extended illness.

She was born January 24, 1942, in Gibbstown, WV, a daughter of the late Ralph and Maysel (Gibbs) Zirkle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Middleton Johnson, Jr; brothers, Loren Zirkle and Wayne Zirkle; and a sister, Judy Zirkle.

She was a graduate of Wahama High School and was a Baptist by faith. Barbara enjoyed spending time with her family, photography, gardening, baking, and candy making.

Survivors include her son, Thomas Johnson III, of Mason, WV.

In keeping with the family's wishes, a private graveside will be held in Zerkle Cemetery, Letart, WV, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
