Betty Kathleen (Neal) Russell , 85, of West Columbia, WV, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2022, at her home, following a brief illness.

She was born Friday, January 13, 1937, in Kaylong, WV, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Eva Marie (Wood) Neal. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Harold Russell and four brothers, Charlie, Joe, Harley, Willie.

Betty was a 1956 graduate of Wahama High School. She spent her life caring for her family and enjoyed tending to her flowers, spending time with family and her dogs.

Survivors include her children, Robert Matthew Russell, Harold Douglas Russell and his wife, Melissa, Brenda Kaye Russell, all of West Columbia; brother, Ronnie Neal and his wife Linda, of West Columbia; sister, Lydia Russell and her husband, Ralph of Clifton; grandchildren, Kendal, Brandon, Amanda, Trey III, Jill, Jacob, Kaydee, Briana, Brandie, Brooke, Dustin; nine great grandchildren and two on the way.

Service will be 3 p.m., Sunday, July 31, 2022, at Foglesong-Casto Funeral Home, Mason, WV, with Pastor Charlie Hargraves officiating. Burial will follow at Graham Baptist Church Cemetery, New Haven, WV. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Sunday, at the funeral home.
