Bill Aaron
Wooten
Dec 22, 1943 — Oct 22, 2026
William Aaron Wooten, 82, of Letart, WV, passed away unexpectedly at his home on October 22, 2026.
He was born on December 22, 1943, in Point Pleasant, WV, and was the son of the late Bern and Garnet (Kearns) Wooten. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, George and Herbin Wooten.
Bill proudly served his country in the United States Navy before dedicating 27 years of service to Southern Ohio Coal Company, where he retired. Throughout his mining career, he held various roles, including serving multiple terms as president. He was a member of the UMWA Local #1886, American Legion Post #476, and Stewart-Johnson VFW Post #9926.
As an avid outdoorsman, he had a passion for coon hunting and farming. His love for the sport of coon hunting earned him a place in the Hall of Fame, and over the years, he also operated three coon hunting clubs. He will certainly be missed by all who knew him, loved him, and were lucky enough to call him a friend.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Ramona (Jordan) Wooten; sons, Greg Lynch and Marshall (Lisa) Wooten; daughters, Tonya Chafin and Yvonne (Jim) Fife; sister, Erma Martin; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no services at this time.
