Carolyn Sue (Sinclair) Van Meter , 76, of Middleport, OH, passed away April 19, 2021, at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis, following a brief illness.

She was born August 5, 1944, in Rutland, OH, a daughter of the late Garland Sinclair and Ethel Virginia (Jacks) Priddy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, William E. "Sonny" Van Meter and four sisters, Linda, Cledith, Maxine, and Marolyn.

Carolyn was a homemaker and pastor's wife who loved to sing and go to church. She attended Potters Wheel Pentecostals in Gallipolis and The Refuge Church in Pomeroy. Carolyn had an infectious smile that will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Tony Chapell of Mason, Rick Chapell and his wife, Carla of Chester, OH; daughters, Misty King (Donald) of Cleveland, TN, Shaunda Powell and her husband, Lawrence of Middleport, Taunda Justis of Mason; step-son, Vance Van Meter and his wife, Christi of Middleport; step-daughter, Kathy Van Meter of Cheshire, OH; sister, Flora Bing of Logan, OH; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, great great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Service will be 4 p.m., Friday, April 23, 2021, at Foglesong Funeral Home, Mason, WV, with Pastors Michael Bradford and Steve Nibert Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Clifton Hill Cemetery, Clifton. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., Thursday, April 22, 2021, at the funeral home.
