Donald Stewart Zerkle Jr., 78, of Letart, WV, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at home.

He was born August 2, 1945, in Mason, WV, a son of the late Donald Stewart Sr. and Mary (Edwards) Zerkle. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Joyce Ann (Hartley) Zerkle.

Donald retired from Felman Production Inc. after many years of service. He was a member of the Fathers House Church in Hartford, the National Rifle Association and United Steelworkers Union Local 5171, Hartford, WV. Donald was an avid hunter and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include his sons, Stewart Zerkle (Megan) of Mason, James Zerkle (Leeann) of Letart, Travis Miller (Bonnie) of Letart; brother, Dexter Trent Zerkle of Letart; grandchildren, Kyle (Liz), Jeffrey (Chelsea), Rebecca (Brody), Emily (Jon), Aaron (Raven), Sophie, Lucas and 15 great grandchildren.

Service will be 3 p.m., Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Foglesong Funeral Home, Mason, WV, with Pastors Huling Greene and Mike Finnicum officiating. Burial will follow at Zerkle Cemetery, Letart, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 2 p.m. until the time of service on Wednesday.
