Emma Josephine (Young) Stanley , 77, of Mason, WV, passed away Sunday, January 10, 2021, at home, following an extended illness.

She was born March 9, 1943, in Mason County, WV, a daughter of the late John and Velma (Laudermilt) Young. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Martin Stanley; sisters, Katherine, Una May, Violet "Pete", Bertha, Velma, Deborah and two brothers, Cecil, and Clarence "Gene" Young.

Emma was previously employed by the V.F.W. Post #9926, Mason, WV, where she was also lifetime auxiliary member. She enjoyed cooking, baking, taking long car rides, Bingo, playing cards and thoroughly enjoyed her kids. She was Catholic by faith.

Survivors include her son, Lawrence Stanly of Mason; daughters, Edwina Edwards and her husband Glen of Clifton, Sandra "Sandy" Murphy and her husband, Jon of Rock Hill, SC; brothers, Charles "Tom" Young of OH, John Young of OH, Harold "Ed" Young of NC, Harry "Bob" Young of OH, Roy Young, Mike Young, Roger Young all of WV; sisters, Wilda Hudson of OH, special sister and caregiver, Mary Brown of Mason; grandchildren, Nikki, Stephanie, Shannon, Lisa, Tyler; great grandchildren, Kori, Riayn, Colton and Soren.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m., Thursday, January 14, 2021, at Graham Baptist Church Cemetery, New Haven, WV, with her son-in-law, Jon Murphy officiating.

Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, masks/facial coverings will be required and social distancing will be observed at the cemetery.
