Harold David Johnson, 81, Racine, OH, passed away October 26, 2023, in Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis, OH, following a brief illness.

He was born March 1, 1942, in Mason, WV, a son of the late Harold Edgar and Stella Frances (Roach) Johnson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Lynn "Prudy" (Theiss) Johnson.

He was a graduate of Wahama High School and Huntington Barber College. He was the owner and operator of Johnson Barber Shop for 61 years in Mason, WV. He was a Christian and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his son David Michael (Jennifer) Johnson of Racine; brothers, Stephen (Judy) Johnson of Point Pleasant, WV and Richard (Laura) Johnson of Racine, OH; sister Linda Ihle of New Haven, WV; several nieces and nephews.

He is also survived by his adopted family, Barbara Chapman; her son, C.T. (Tammy) Chapman; their children, Rachel (Tony) Hupp, Ryan (Shauna) Chapman, whom he considered his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Tyson, Tucker, Addi and Brooks all of Racine, OH; longtime friends, John Randolph, Jimmy Dudding, Tommy Edwards, Ray Varian, Dale Humphreys, Harold Gibbs, Donnie and Rusty Woods and many others who visited his barber shop regularly.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. ~ Tuesday, October 31, 2023, in Greenwood Cemetery, Racine, OH. Arrangements provided by Foglesong Funeral Home, Mason, WV.
