James Cecil Reitmire, 89, of Letart, WV, passed away Monday, July 17, 2023, at home, following an extended illness.

He was born March 21, 1934, in Mason County, WV, a son of the late Harry and Erma (Cunningham) Reitmire. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Peggy Reitmire; two children, Wayne Capehart and Tracy Reitmire; brothers, Harry Alfred, John Samuel, George Albert Sr., Walter Ray, Thomas Carl, Floyd Mike, Kenny Lee Sr., and Richard Allen Reitmire Sr.; sister, Deborah Lynn Reitmire

James was a United States Navy Veteran and retired in 1996 from Mid-West Steel in Pomeroy, OH. He loved being in nature and walking through the woods. He also enjoyed fishing, metal detecting, visiting the barber shop and hunting various herbs.

Survivors include his companion of 28 years, Janice (Roush) Reitmire; daughter, Jaime Reitmire; stepdaughter, Cheryl Ann Oldaker; brother, Jack Reitmire; sister, Erma Joann Goulart; grandchildren, Xavier James, Isaiah Thomas, James Wyatt, Parker Matthew, Jaelyn McKenzie, Roxie Audreanna, and Teigen Marcel Reitmire and many nieces and nephews.
