Kathy
Davis
Apr 27, 1954 — Apr 14, 2026
Kathy Harris Davis of Middleport, Ohio, passed away peacefully on April 14, surrounded by her loving family, after a hard and courageous battle with cancer. She was 71 years old.
Kathy was born on April 27, 1954, in Madison, Boone County, West Virginia, to the late Henry and Alafair Newsom Harris. She was raised in Sharples, Logan County, West Virginia, and took great pride in being a true West Virginia gal throughout her life.
Kathy was the youngest of 13 children and delighted in her Daddy, Mommy, and older siblings spoiling her.
Kathy devoted much of her life to caring for others. She worked as a CNA in home health for many years before discovering her true passion in private duty nursing. Her kindness, compassion, and gentle spirit left a lasting impact on both her patients and their families. She will always be remembered for her loving and selfless nature.
In August of 2020, Kathy married Jason Davis, who she often said was the love of her life. She cherished their time together and spoke often of how well he cared for her.
Kathy is survived by her devoted husband, Jason Davis; her children, Heather (Dave) Capehart of Pomeroy, Ohio, and David Lee (Misty) Mitchell of Langsville, Ohio; stepchildren, TJ (Emily) Davis of Canal Winchester, Ohio, Dakota (Rachel) Dewitt of Houma, Louisiana, and Stacy (Matt) Moran of Dublin, Ohio; her cherished grandchildren, Anthony (Taylor) Lane, Shalynn (Lane) Snyder, and Ashton (Kat) Mitchell; her step-grandchildren Kaden Moran, Braylon Davis, Rylen, Natlee, and Donald Dewitt. She was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Parker Lane and Luka Snyder, and her special furbaby Cooper.
She is further survived by her brothers, Clyde Harris of Michigan, Jesse (Lois) Harris of Alabama, and Woodrow (Marilyn) Harris of Tennessee, along with 30 or more nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by her father- and mother-in-law, Clarence and Jean Davis, her common-law husband, Arnold Priddy, and nine brothers and sisters: Ishmael, Millard, Dan, Charles, Critt, Herman, Sue, Alice, and Ginny.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 19, with a viewing on Saturday, April 18. 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Foglesong Funeral Home in Mason, West Virginia, with Pastor John Swanson officiating. Burial will follow at Kirkland Memorial Gardens in Point Pleasant, West Virginia.
The family warmly welcomes anyone with classic cars or motorcycles who would like to participate in leading Kathy to her final resting place.
Kathy's love, strength, and caring spirit will live on in all who knew and loved her. She will always be remembered by her family as Mommy and Mamaw, along with her feisty, fun, loving nature and beautiful smile.
