Macy Lou (Killingsworth) Carter, 92, of Hartford, WV, passed away Monday, January 13, 2024, in Cabell-Huntington Hospital following an extended illness.

She was born October 2, 1932, in Southside, WV, a daughter of the late Rev. Howard and Florence (Gearhart) Killingsworth. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Kenneth E. "Dip" Carter; daughter and son, Stacie L and Rocklun E. Carter; brothers, Daniel, Okey, Howard "Junior" Killingsworth; sister, Jean Durbin; son in law, Ewell Leland Turley.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends in person and on the phone. She attended the Hartford Church of Christ in Christian Union where she played the piano and taught pre-k. She loved serving the Lord and spreading his WORD. She loved quoting Psalms 23 to anyone she ran into.

Survivors include her children, Lore (Robert) Whitmore of Highland, IL, Connie Turley of Hartford, WV; grandchildren, Shawn (Rose) Turley, Tonya (Kyle) Troxell, Justin (Lori) Whitmore, Cristy (Brian) Turley; great-grandchildren, Jarod Turley, Christopher Evans, Brianna Evans, Ethan Troxell, Wyatt Troxell, Oaklynn Pennell, Madelin Patton; great-great grandchild; Jaxton Vest; sister in laws Deloris Killingsworth and Mayben Killingsworth.

Service will be 1 p.m. ~ Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Foglesong-Casto Funeral Home, Mason, WV, with Pastor Chris "Buster" Neece officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time-of-service Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers Macy requested to have everyone take a moment and read the Psalm 23 and or sit down and spend some time with a loved one or friend.
