Michael Arthur Taylor Sr ., 77, of New Haven, WV, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2021, at home, with family by his side.

He was born July 16, 1943, in Clifton, WV, a son of the late John W. and Jean (Henry) Taylor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Frances (Weaver) Taylor and brother, Kenneth Taylor.

Michael was a United States Coast Guard veteran. He retired from Good Year/Shell Company with 32 years of service where he held various positions and attended the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mason, WV. Michael was an avid hunter and Bass fisherman and a lifetime member of BASS. He also enjoyed indoor and outdoor archery. Most importantly, Michael was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, and friend.

Survivors include his sons, Derrick Taylor (Lyn Robinson) of Pt. Pleasant, Michael Taylor Jr. (Jamie Standridge) of New Haven, Matt Taylor and his wife Tracey of Pt. Pleasant; brother, John Taylor Jr. and his wife, Carol of Pt. Pleasant; brothers-in-law, Clyde and Elanor of New Haven, Nick and Virginia Weaver of New Haven;  grandchildren, Ashley Taylor of Flatwoods, KY, Michael (Yvonne) Taylor of Chauncy, OH, Tara Taylor (Wes) of Marietta, OH, William (Stephanie) Taylor of Kenova, WV; eight great-grandchildren, Atlanta, Skyla, Blaine, Carsen, Brantley, Keelan, Heidi, Peyton, and several nieces and nephews.

Service will be 1p.m., Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at Foglesong Funeral Home, Mason, WV, with Father Pen officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in Kirkland Memorial Gardens, Pt. Pleasant. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until time of service on Tuesday, at the funeral home.
