Paul Wesley Ashworth, 83, of Letart, WV, passed away March 19, 2025, at Abbyshire Place, Bidwell, OH, following an extended illness.

He was born September 27, 1941, in Coal Mountain, WV, a son of the late John Watson and Minnie Izetta (Racer) Ashworth. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Tangela Thornton; brother, Watson Ray Ashworth; sisters, Margaret L. Wick, Reba D. Hodges, Frances L. Ashworth, and Juanita C. Floyd.

He was a United States Army veteran. He retired from the maintenance department at A.E.P. with 30 plus years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, bird watching and was an avid musician.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Sheila Annette (Cooper) Ashworth; daughter, Malena Ashworth of Letart; brothers, Danny Lee Ashworth of Saint Albans, and Michael D. Ashworth of Cross Lanes; sisters, Barbara Jean Knapp of Hurricane and Rachael V. Lashun of Saint Albans; granddaughters, Jennifer Leigh Thornton and Brittney Nicole (Randy) Ashworth; great-granddaughter, Aubree Leigh Thornton.

Service will be 5 p.m. ~ Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Foglesong-Casto Funeral Home, Mason, WV. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until time-of-service Tuesday at the funeral home.
