Roy Luther Herdman, 80, of Mason, WV, passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at Hospice at CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston, WV, following a brief illness.

He was born August 13, 1943, in Buffalo, WV, a son of the late Roy L. and Ethel (Young) Herdman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Clinton "De" Herdman, Jerold "Jerry" Herdman; brother, Lionel Herdman and sister, Patricia Roell.

Roy had worked as a Skilled Laborer for the Trailer Factor and worked in Fiber Optics with Verizon. He enjoyed living life and having fun. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, going to fairs and casinos. Roy was an avid football fan of Marshall and Ohio State.

Survivors include his son, Roy Herdman (Rick Roach) of Illinois; Nellie Lee of Indiana; brother, Lonnie Herdman and wife, Shirley of Potters Creek; sisters, Dorothy Howard of Hartford, Macel Zuspan and husband, Kenny of Potters Creek; grandson, Brody Herdman and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Service will be 2 p.m., Sunday, November 19, 2023, at Foglesong Funeral Home, Mason, WV, with Pastor Neil Tennant officiating. Burial will follow at Graham Baptist Church Cemetery, New Haven. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service on Sunday, at the funeral home.
