Scott Anthony Chapman, 62, of The Plains, OH, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

He was born October 29, 1962, in Gallipolis, OH, a son of Jane (Wolf) Chapman of West Columbia and the late Jackie Lee Chapman. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Clarence and Louise Chapman and maternal grandparents, Olin and Freda Wolf.

Scott was a 1980 graduate of Wahama High School. He served in the United States Army and was Methodist by faith. Scott loved traveling to the mountains and enjoyed fishing, hunting, metal detecting, trapping, and collecting old coins.

Survivors in addition to his mother, include son, Joshua Chapman and wife, Jacklyn of Letart; daughters, Molly Carmichael of The Plains, OH, Kayla Reeves of Mason; sister, Lori Kearns and husband, Greg of West Columbia; six grandchildren, one nephew, and three special friends, Justin Gleason, Sandra Hoffman, and Atishia Reitmire.

There will be no public services at this time.
