Shelia Howell, of Point Pleasant, WV, passed away peacefully at Pleasant Valley Healthcare Center on January 19, 2025, following a long illness.

Shelia was born in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, on October 18, 1946. She was a Coalminers daughter and middle child. She married Russell Derwood Howell Sr. in 1967 and was a loving mother, awesome cook, and extremely talented painter and artist. Her favorite subjects were landscapes and wildlife scenes done in oils on canvas. She also became an accomplished basket weaver and seamstress. She was a faithful Christian, saved and redeemed by Christ and is now bathed in his Glory forever.

Shelia was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Georgia Campbell and a brother, Lenvil Campbell. Survivors include her husband, Russell D. Howell Sr.; two sons, Russell Jr. (Rebecca) Howell, Earl (Trina) Howell; four grandchildren, Raven, Jessica, Tyron, and Jenna Howell; one great granddaughter, Kyra Russell, and her younger sister, Rita Eppenbaugh (Duke) of Pikeville, KY.

A graveside service to honor the life of Shelia will be 2 p.m., Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Forest Hills Cemetery, Flatrock, WV.
