Virginia Lucretia (Bumgarner) Barrett, 74, of New Haven, WV, passed away at her home on October 6, 2026.

She was born on November 11, 1951, in Mason, WV, and was the daughter of Florence (Wolfe) Bumgarner and the late Leland Bumgarner. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Roger Lee Barrett.

Virginia was a graduate of Wahama High School and a homemaker. She enjoyed crafting, sewing, music, and was a Christian by faith.

Survivors include her mother, Florence Bumgarner; children, Shannon Barrett of New Haven, WV and Shelly Barrett of Letart, WV; grandchildren, Jonathan Barrett (Tuppers Plains, OH), Taylor Wilson (Fairplain, WV), Justin Durham (Letart, WV), Olivia Todd (Columbus, OH), Jessica Davis (Hartford, WV), Charles Landers Jr. (New Haven, WV), William Landers (Middleport, OH); four great-grandchildren; brothers, Leland (Debbie) Bumgarner Jr. (New Haven, WV), Gary (Marsha) Bumgarner (Point Pleasant, WV), John Bumgarner (Mason, WV); and special caregivers, Jessica Davis, Tonya Honeybee, Nixey Davis, and Bailey Moore.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 12, 2026, at Foglesong-Casto Funeral Home in Mason, WV, with Pastor John Bumgarner officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Letart, WV. Friends and family may visit from noon until the time of the service on Monday.
